I went to the LPB Legends Gala in Baton Rouge and one of the nominees is Louisiana born Kix Brooks, of the multi-award winning country duo Brooks & Dunne. He's the one in the cowboy hat. Those are some friends and co-workers also in the picture with Mr. Brooks. It was fun night, nice little reception at the new Shaw Arts Building in Downtown Baton Rouge, nice little jazz band playing for the guests. Among the other nominees were a former UN Ambassador, past & present LSU football coaches, philanthropists, businessmen and an environmental advocate. It was a great night and I didn't want it to end. P.S. I also got Kix's autograph which I decided to give to my Mom since she is such a big fan of the group even though her favorite is Ronny Dunne, but I'm sure she won't mind. 'Til next time.
